Wheel Compatibility
I've got an older set of wheels from an e36/e46 BMW. Will they fit an e53 X5? Size is 17 x 7.5 with 41mm offset (M double spoke style 68 from an e46 330i sport package) Thanks! |

go to realoem.com and look up the specs. there will definitely be weight differences between the vehicles. used OEM reims are so cheap, just get some from craigslist (and sell your for prob same price) and have the right ones on there.

Yeah, I've looked there. There are wheels I have/have been looking at that fit the specs. What realoem.com doesn't tell you is the center bore diameter and the load rating for the wheel.
Anybody know? |

Gruppe B's BMW Wheel Specs & Fitment Chart
The hub bores appear to be the same (72.56) but the lug bolts are larger on the X5, 14 mm instead of 12 mm. That suggests to me that the X5 wheel also has a heavier load rating.

Interesting. I guess I'll have to go out and do a little measuring.
Thanks for the info JCL. |
