The link doesn't provide any specifics on that jack/stand.

X5's advertised weight is less than 5k pounds, so it is less than 2.5 US tons. That makes for about .6 to .7 tons per corner, depending on the weight distribution. So a 1 ton stand at the corner should be good enough, but when dealing with the car on jack stands while I am working under the car, I would myself pay a bit more and get the 2 ton ones, just for the peace of mind.

I have 2 - 6 ton hydraulic bottle jacks and 2 - 3 ton jack stands. I also have 8 blocks- 4x6 landscape ties cut into 1 ft sections I use these next to the jack stands just in case and to serve as an extra jack stand if I need it

Yeah, even at $150 that looks like a good set/combo. I read the specifications, and it is 3 tons per pair of jackstands. It is still very good for use with X5.

Stronger jack stands are ALWAYS better. Especially if you are working UNDER the vehicle. Err on the side of safety. A word of caution, always push on the car when on the jack stands to insure stability. Good Luck!

i know it says thread closed, but i would recommend buying ones with a slim profile, make it easy to get them in place after you jack up with a floor jack.
