53000 kms when is next service due?

I'm at 53,000 kms (32900 miles) should I be due for an oil change/service inspection soon? Its still got 2 green bars in the indicator. DO I just wait?

I'm pretty close behind you with 49 k and I have 2 bars left as well. I was guessing by 50K I will be ready for an oil change but maybe it'll be even later.

I find that there is nearly 5,000kms per bar. It goes by fuel consumption and we do alot of highway miles so our may be higher. You should have atleast 6,000kms before next oil change. check the home page for recommended service components and times (though i follow the lights).

BMWs don't have regular service intervals. Instead there are 100s of sensors monitoring your car and continually calculating the time for your next service. It's based on actual USE rather than just the MILES.

OK thanks that's beginning to make sense.... my summer miles (kms) have been purely highway trips. So with less stop and go driving I can see why the bars 'moved' less in relation to the odometer numbers.
