Happy to finally fix my clunk noise in back thanks to our member DinanX5

Happy to announce that i finally got rid of the noise in the trunk. all the noise was coming from the "door latch" all i did was covering it with "felt tape" I got at my local hardware store for $1.55 Now i also have "joined the silence" of course thanks again DinanX5

Have the same problem with mine, where exactly did you stick the tape?

I thought some time last year someone found out that the creaking in the back was the result of the plastic relfectors in the lower part that can be seen when it is open. I think it tends to get bowed up and ends up creaking. I think you felt just makes the latch tighter not allowing there to be as much play. Would it also help to do something with the reflectors?

I am not sure about 2006 3.0 YEs, just follow the thread DinanX5 posted. You bet guys now i have NO noise whatsoever not even on bumps.. its so funny i go over bumps on purpose to hear any noises but nothing. The X its a very soft and silence SAV as it is.. but now with this fix, man..its like driving a brand new car taken out from the dealer. Good luck to you all.. it took me only 15 min.
