Lifetime coolant???

I was browsing the BMW maintenance manual the other day on my 2004 3.0i and noticed that BMW now recommends changing out the transmission fluid at 100k miles and the coolant is now lifetime??? WTF??? Has anyone noticed this? I guessed BMW figured out that their crappy waterpump will seized up at about 60k and that you'll need to replace the coolant at that time anyway and ultimately went away with the coolant flush recommendation altogether?

Used it in My 1987 7 series 5 years ago. If your coolent system is in good working order it's my understanding that it does work.

The M50-56 water pump problems have long since been corrected, it was only the early ones that failed. Those pumps regularly go for 100K, I just did a 140k car with original pump, the thermostat housing was cracked so when I was there I did the pump, but it was not leaking or making noise
