ball joint screw stripped, anyone had this issue

Just did the passenger side lower control arm, bushing and ball joint, upper control arm, bushing and ball joint, and swar bar link. Now I'm on the drivers side. I have already done the sway bar link and pressed a new bushing in the upper control arm, but I can't get the ball joint out for the upper control arm. Some has obviously been down there before because the inner torx nut thingy is stripped. I went out and bought the T55 socket but now I can't even use it.

Should I just drill this out? The ball joints came with new screws, but there huge. I just used the old ones instead on the passenger side.

yeah. is the ball joint stuck in the arm or the steering knuckle? sounds more like you got the screws stuck in the knuckle. you need to drill it out.

you can also try some extractor tool but it's probably not going to help much. You can also drill it out if it doesn't work though. just be careful not to damage the thread on the steering knuckle. use smaller bit and then slowly go larger.

Hi Shooter,
How did you remove the old Ball joint? I am having a hell of a time taking it out. Any help will be appreciated. Hope you were able to take out the stripped one.
