Tailights problems suck
i have been having problems with my left and right brakes lights for almost 4months and its starting to get me pissed off.
![]() ive changed the bulbs about 20 times already took out the tailight annd put it back in. I've bought 3 bulbs sockets for BMW Of Manhatten. I think i should listen to Justin and go with a pair of BRAND new Smoked or Clear LED tailights. Are there a certain brand name i should get for my LED tailights? What do you guys think??? Smoked or Clear? My Car is next to Rich's the Topaz Blue 4.4

To be honest with you the same type of crap happened to me up until i upgraded my tail lights and headlights to white instead of yellow turn signal ones... once i changed my LED tail lights they never gave me that issue again (Thankfully)

the contact points have burnt through. its not the bulbs or socket, fix the contact points using lead and some soldering. i fixed 3 contact points in the tail lights. they fixed the problem permanently. its amazing i have the same problems on my mercedes ml, wonder how the german engineers came up with the same problems. maybe its in their genes.

I did a solder job and used some emery paper to clean up the contact point on the tail light assembly to fix the contact point which looked like it had arched over time and created a void in the metal. Did the fix about 6 months ago and problem has not come back. I think BMW is using the wrong material for the contact ring on the tail light assembly. I was somewhat hoping my fix wouldn't work so I could justify buying the LED tails.

hey man, I have the same problem. I don't have the tools to do the soldering and such, but apparently it is an easy repair. I just take out the bulb and reconnect it when it goes out... its just a contact issue.
