Door Lock Actuator / So not funny

So I recently purchased an "06" and was loving my new zippy ride compared to the Range Rover tank I've been driving for the last 5 years. The non BMW dealer I bought the car from sent me a second key fob about a week later but the thing didn't work, so I got on the web and found instructions on how to program the new key. With great expectations I sat in my car clicking and pointing away to no avail, so decided I would head on over to the BMW dealer the minute I got a chance but first things first...
I zip on over to the driving range and pull out my clubs (tg) I try to lock the doors with the original key fob which had always worked and nothing, I think, "damn I must have deprogramed the original key", so I manually lock the car with the key.
When I return with key in hand I am shocked to find that i can't open the door. The key turns in the lock but it will not unlock, I gaze through the window and remember that my purse, my phone, and my shoes are all in there, wtf!
Long story short is I had to have the car flat bedded to the BMW dealer the next morning. They also could not get into the car and had to break the drivers side window to gain access. The good news is that the car is still under warranty, for about another minute...the bad news is that they must have left some glass in the window track and when I picked up the car and tested the window there was a screeeech sound, lo and behold the new window is scratched. The sa was standing right there, he had no other choice but to agree to replace the window again.... it should be ready for p/u today.
Anyone have a similar lock actuator problem or just me?? I would say it's just my luck but I shot an 81 the next day, so I guess I just have "luck", some good some bad.

sorry to hear about your window - it would kill me to have to intentionally break it!

i've always found the door locks on the X5....random. sometimes they work with the fob, sometimes they dont. sometimes i have to manually pull the passenger side door handles, since neither the center console unlock nor the fob worked.

does the X have a rear liftgate key lock? never checked...

Nope.

The lock/fob/keyless entry system in our x's must be the single most talked about problem on these forums. I'm still pissed that I can't get one of my 300 dollar FOB's to work.

I asked the mechanic at the dealer if he had fun breaking my window?, he replied,"yes I even videoed it."
My reply, "You may have had fun, but I would have had satisfaction."
