E53 Diesel particle filter

E53 doesn't come with a diesel particle filter, it really smells and is harmful. Wonder if it's possible to install an exhaust particle filter, similar to the one on E70 or old 5 series.

E53 Diesel particle filter

Hi,

I just got one installed in my 05, 3.0 D, 69.000 km.
I went to the BMW dealer in Denmark - BMW has an fix price for the kit.
I paid 13.500,- DKR - it is app. 2.500 USD.

Best regards

TEM

I was also looking into adding DPF but Brisbane BMW said that it is not possible as BMW Australia do not import this part.

It will cost an arm and a leg to change it anyhow. R u thinking about changing exhaust too? Im tempted to change to a 3" turbo back system, high flow cat with 2.5" muffler at end for my diesel .
