Can't remove 4.6is dipstick

Just purchased a 4.6is today. I noticed a small oil leak under the vehicle, which I'm to get looked at this week buy a very reputable independent shop. I tried to remove the dipstick to check the oil, and I'm unable to pull it out. I didn't want to pull too hard and break something. Any suggestions or thoughts?

Tried that too...Do you turn it counterclockwise or clockwise, and how far do you have to turn it? Don't mean to sound stupid, I know a little about cars, I just don't want to break the handle...

In my 3.0 the dipstick gets very tight... it seems like the oring on it forms a tight seal (almost too tight) during the week of driving. I check the oil once a week, and it is pretty hard to pull it out the first time around (compared to other cars that I have had), but once it is out, placing it back in and out again is fairly easy... until the next oil check.

OK, I'll try it again tomorrow when I can see. Yeah, with all of my other vehicles, it usually comes out pretty easy, that's why I was scared to pull too hard.
