Remote Dirverside Door Wont lock or Unlock With Remote

I have a 2001 x5 and recently replaced the driverside mirror. Everything works fine but the remote dont lock nor unlock the driverside door. The remote opens and locks all other doors; the hatch works and cabin lights work.

Lastly, when I hit the remote to unlock the driverside door the cabin lights comes on but the door dont unlock and when trying to lock the riverside door nothing happen.

In summary, why the driverside door not locking or unlocking and what happen to my alarm.

Weasel will become famous soon enough
Make sure the latch is still plugged in just in case you unplugged it and forgot to plug it back in... Otherwise you may need a new latch assembly.

If you lock/unlock the vehicle by putting the key in the drivers door what does the rest of the vehicle do?

I am going to try to reprogram the key. Hopefully this will take care of it.

Be interesting to know if reprogramming the key solves the problem.

I wouldnt have thought it would myself and does sound as if something has been disconnected during the door mirror replacement. If key reprogramming doesnt solve it can you hear the central locking on the driver side make any noises at all during unlocking / locking via the remote? If it does then it would suggest electrically things are connected but not engaging correctly.

As Weasel said, what happens when you manually insert a key into lock and try?

I reprogrammed the key and that solved most of my problems. I only have one more to resolve; the alarm is deactivated. How can I reactivate the alarm?

I call the dealership today and was told that it would cost around 109.00 and I had to make an appointment. For some strange reason, tonight the alarm started to work again. I am happy.
