Question ULF Questions

Where exactially is the ULF located on the X5? I'm assuming its in the rear but is it under the spare wheel or is it where the NAV Drive is?

Also what year of X5 does the ULF need to come from, in order to get the iphone to pair up.

Is there any specific part number or serial code on the ULF I need to look at?

I've located a few X5's for dismantling so was going to look into getting the UHF that works with the iphone.

I assume you mean the ULF. It is located in the area where the nav drive is (left rear electronics bay)

The ulf is under the plastic section on the left hand side of the boot next to the nav/cd player undo the two plastic nuts and lift the section out and the ulf is under there its the silver box on the angle.Don't know which one you'll need for the i phone though sorry

Thanks! I had a look and can see where it is now.

Just wondering what generation of ULF is required to work with the iphone or what year of BMW the iphone ULF was installed on. I noticed the ULF is used on most of the other BMW ranges too, so I'll be able to get one form a dismantler one problem, just need to get the right one though.

My ULF is either a 3rd or 4th generation unit and it works just fine with the iPhone (both the original and the 3G). It also works just fine with my Blackberry Curve.
