Window regulator went out over the weekend, and I was close to the edit on the green service lights, so I told the dealer to go ahead and take care of the oil service. I get a call tonight saying that the oil drain plug hole is stripped out. Needs a new oil pan. Cost? Only $190 for the part and 3 hours labor. That's about $500 bones. Yeesh.
Maybe one of you guys here can answer this:
If I was underneath a car, doing the oil change and noticed that the drain plug hole was stripped, and the car had less than 100K on the odometer, I'd drill a larger hole and tap it and get a larger plug. Cost about $5. Why would that not be a good idea?
