Is there a place that sells chrome trim that doesn't bubble up?

I am looking for chrome trim that sits above the black strip in the middle of the door. I have some on now but after only 2 weeks, the clear coat is starting to bubble up. Is there any trim out there that's actually metal?

Where are the chrome mirrors, exterior pillar covers and window tint? I mean come on, if you're gonna do it...DO IT ALL YO!!!

If the chrome is already bubbling and you only bought it two weeks ago, take it back to the dealership. But then again, by looking closer, I'm guessing you just went wild in the "accessories" department at WalMart. Sorry, but real chrome isn't going to come in a roll for $5.99 w/ a picture of a Civic on the cover. Just my .02.

Yes, it was an eBay kit. Supposed to be just for the E53. Yeah right, it was just cut pieces of the stuff that comes from AutoZone.

I learned from the cruiser in the back that too much chrome gets really stupid. In fact, the first "mod" I did to it was to yank the chrome pillars off of it. I don't think I've gone to far, I just want the car to look updated. But you are free to let your opinions fly.

I believe there is a store on ebay called "dont ever do that to your car". they even give you an instruction manual explaining how bad it actually looks in person. sorry dude...you set yourself up for this one

Listen, I don't give a shit about the stuff on there now. If I can't get something that is actually metal it's coming off. Also, I can't believe that anyone would think that black wheels look good. I usually don't give my opinion about what I think unless I am asked for it. I guess on this forum, you're aloud to say whatever you want even when you don't know the solution to the poster's problem.

It wasn't specifically made for the X5, they just happen to put E53 X5 as a keyword. Search your sellers store and I bet he probably sells the same stuff for Escalade's, Accord's, Civic's, etc. Unless it has an ///M logo in the strips, there is nothing E53 specific about it.

12 post and you're already droppin 'S' bombs. Its a forum, open to anyones opinion...like or dislike.

It's not necessarily that it's not tasteful, but it just looks added on. You have the stock door edge molding that runs on each door, then the marker light on the fender that are all in the same line. With the trim you added on, it messed up that line, but you can't add it to the fender because it would cramp the marker light and 4.4 badge. Just my .02, but If you do anymore chrome, it may as well be an F150 w/ a LOBO badge and being driven by a 5'3" guy w/ a nice complexion.

The solution is to take it off and leave it off, or live w/ the bubbles...or call Chip Foose and see if he'll make you real chrome strips built to your specs.
