Best Bang for the Buck.....Subwoofer

Any recommendations for a 8" or 10" sub that would fit in the fuse compartment for under $200 for sub-woofer Looking for clean low end bass...any recommendation????

Unless you build your own box, you're not going to find anything less than $200. Your only "off the shelf" boxes are JL Audio and BSW...even used ones are usually above $200. Good luck with the search and let us all know if you find a solution!

Well I just bought a Basslink off ebay for $110 including shipping. Some people in here doesn't seem to like the basslink. From what I gather it may not fit in the fuse compartment.

I have a lot of tools, and am rather handy. So building an enclosure is not out of the question. Just looking for a sub that gives clean low end bass and I will buy an "old school" Rockford Phosgate amp to power it.

Haven't kept up much with stereo equipment over the years so looking for expert advice. The sub they sell with the stealth box is only $75 on ebay brand new, bulding an enclosure isn't that big of a deal.....Just wandering whats the best sub

if you want nice crisp bass than you have to outside the realms of the fuse compartment and you have to spend more than 200. save this thread until you have at least 500 for a sub,box and amp and I can tell you a story of a wonderful alpine setup that is outstanding

Its no the lack of money, I am thinking of selling my X next summer and getting a newer one (mine is a 2002 with 120K). My thumping days are long gone, in my old age (I am 32) I prefer quality over loudness. Just looking for something small and cheap.

age has nothing to do with a crisp subwoofer. I recommend one 10 inch to do the job, but your not understanding that you will not get quality with a small sub in your fuse compartment or 200

Point taken, I have to get one in the fuse compartment. I have a 13month old son, that's in the car seat in the rear. i don't want anything in the trunk for his safety in case of a wreck.

I have the JL stealth box, powered by an alpine PDX 600.1 amp. It hits clean and hard. I have a bass control knob to dial the bass in. You would be hard pressed to find a box that sounds this good for its size. I scored the stealth box for $350 on ebay.
