heated seats questions

Hello folks,

I have had a 2000 4.4i X5 for the last couple of years, it's been great, considering it has 144K miles on it. We almost never use the heated seats,
but the other day I noticed that on the passenger's side, both seat and backrest heat, but on the driver's side, only the bottom heats up, the back, doesn't.
I'm guessing something's wrong with it? any ideas?
Thanks!!!
