Best snow tires for X5?

Whats the best snow tires for a 2001 X5 in a blizzard? Bear with the dumb questions guys i'm new.

Thanks! I am still shopping around for an X5 and theres an 01 i'm keeping a good eye on. I wanted to be prepared if I pick it up this week since the winter is around the corner.

michelin X-Ice Xi2!!! best bang for the money and i think best all-round tire... Depending on how harsh your winters are, performance winter tires don't help when ur stuck in snow...

Any of the top brands of dedicated winter tires do very well, imo. Tire Rack has some excellent info on brands.
For occasional snow in Metro NY region and maybe some upstate drives during winter, I would not buy the most
expensive or aggressive tread winter tire, imo...none of those tires will be "happy" grinding around on the fairly dry
pavement of NYC all winter, however. Blizzard?! You must have some inside info.

I live up here in toronto ontario canada and our winters are pretty harsh. I just recently bought the Pirelli Scorpion Snow and Ice tires. I heard alot of good reviews and about them. Just my 0.02 worth.

Another vote for Pirelli Scorpion Ice and Snow. Amazing tire on both snow AND ice...which is far more dangerous than snow IMO. Have enjoyed these tires on my X5 for 4 winters and continue to be very impressed with them. The best part is how well they perform on dry pavement during mild days. They are relatively quiet, don't squirm around and can take a corner at speed without drama. I will buy them again.

As an alternative, I also have the Michelin X-ice tires on my Odyssey minivan and I'm also very impressed with them...again on both snow and ice. I've heard the Xi2 is even better.

Another Canadian endorsement of Pirelli Scorpions Ice and Snow. These are on 18" rims.

I predict a blizzard here in NY this winter.

I called TireRack this morning and they recommended the Blizzaks or Michelin Ice. I asked him what would u pick and he said the Blizzaks.
