front hood struts covered but not rear hatch/trunk ones?

Brought the truck in Friday and was told that my rear struts that hold the hatch open(starting to sag) are not covered under cpo. Does anyone know of why this would be? it is a 2005 4.4 cpo and I thought all non wear items are usually covered. The front ones are covered by the way.

51231066 ENGINE HOOD GAS SPRING NO EFFECT
51240466 TRUNK LID GAS-PRESSURE SPRING NO EFFECT

looks like they are both covered under the original owner protection program and certified preowned warranty.
