2004 4.4 Rough Idle - resolution
On my X5 i found the Air Intake Actuator pivot was broken just like on this post, fo rme the quick fix was to remove the back cover and place a #10 x 1.5" wood screw in place of the pivot that had broken, very simple fix of 20 minutes saves >$200/

Awesome find!!! It's pretty sad that BMW's seem to get cheaper and cheaper when it comes to their plastic parts. Who knew practically new E60 owners we're already having issues...pretty sad really.
