If it has been sitting a year, replace the battery (looks like you did that), change the oil and check the spark plugs. Of coarse check your air pressure in the tires and make sure all of the other fluid levels are ok. Open the hood and check for animals and birds nests, debri. It's a good idea to open the air box, take the filter out and vaccum out the enclosure as you will see tons of dust collects in there.

Good luck, that's what you should do anyway- no surprise it won't start.

Still, it might not have enough juice to start the engine. Keep the key into ignition with the ignition ON for 10-15 minutes and then try to start the car. secondly, I would check the battery connectors. they could be loose.

if both fail then I would change the battery

why 2 posts?

Have you tried using another car and jumpstarting it instead?

This happened to me, left the X for 11 days came back it was dead as a dodo connected my battery power starter (kept in the back for just these occasions) but just lights and relay clicking, then connected jump leads to another vehicle and still much the same results, left connected for 10 mins with donor vehicle running and tried again, engine then turned over and started...

These vehicles HATE being drained. I've had to put my jumper box on and let it in the jumpstart position for upwards of 5 minutes before the car started...jump box says no longer than 30 seconds If possible, hook it directly to the battery instead of making the charge have to run through 6ft of cable to reach the trunk mounted battery.
