Repairing Headlamps

Beginning to purchase parts to fix the X after the collision with a deer. The headlamp clips are broke....realoem has a 'repair kit' for the clips. Is it true that I can fix my headlamp vs. buying one? I've been payed out for replacing the headlamp but there is no reason to buy one when I don't need one.

I am getting a "check highbeam light" message on the dash, but it looks like my highbeams are working.

Thoughts?
