Front Bumper "grids"

I need to replace the front bumper grids of my 05 X5 4.4 sport has there anyone who has done this that could provide a heads up to the difficulty or ease of this procedure.

I believe you need to remove the bumper, the grills can be bought off ebay or even your dealer would have them

You need to remove the front bumper to access and replace the bumper grills. Once the bumper is off, you can slide the grills off their locks on the bumper. Not too tough at all.

Do they come in any stronger material? I have a hole from a bird and would hate to go through the trouble of replacing it just to get another hole in it.

that seems like alot of work. can anybody comment on how much time/effort/pain in the ass it requires?
