The journey begins...
Hey Guys! I'm still new to this forum and still learning a lot about my newly purchased 01 X5 4.4i
I never really had the fever of owning an X5 till last December ‘09. I finally found one @ Ebay and after a few history checks and research, I was confident enough to buy it from a dealership in Texas. When the shipping company delivered the truck last January, it then started acting up...
At first, the delivery driver can't even get the car off the trailer truck as it doesn't have enough power to reverse. Eventually, they were able to get the car out and when I test drove it, it ran fine (including the reverse). The car sat on my driveway for a couple of weeks, thinking that it was just a fluke incident. And not till recently, when I finally had the time to enjoy driving the car, it then started acting up and now the reverse wouldn't work at all.
After becoming a member to this site, I then found out that it's a common problem w/ a lot of BMW's. My only recourse is to drive it for an additional 600 more miles, till my extended warranty kicks in...Then, I can take it to a dealership and have them checked it out. I just hope I can get it done as soon as possible before my temp tags expires, but first I need to purchase a new set of tires, as the one's I have is so bad in snow (which means extra expenses...) Oh well - I guess, the journey begins...
