And so what colour would you guys go with with Topaz Blue?

When the time comes I'm half inclined to run with a T Blue front skid plate in lieu of silver as nothing else on the X is of a silver colour, apart from maybe the s/steps and rims. I think it would look rather odd instead of rather nice.

Given the big bang for the buck with this mod and the overall impact from the front this has got to be one of the best and cheapest mods we can all do, no?

I digress for a moment and wonder why somebody who either works in a (metal) manufacturing plant of sorts or has friends/contacts who do, hasn't gone out on a limb and had one made in thick stainless steel using a real one as a template. I mean apart from being very different it would be functual to a point and at the least a lot more sturdier than the current oem plastic ones. This is something I'd expect Tom (mrbmwX5) to have a go at. Could you imagine how would sick it would look.

This skid plate looks good but is not available in Australia. getbmwparts say they no longer ship internationally, does any one know any other dealer or supplier that would?

Why not try T-Blue?? If you got a 4.6/ 4.8 body kit, you would paint it blue, right?? That is why I painted mine AW instead of TI. I only mentioned silver for the one above b/c truthfully I think painting it black would be a waste of money.

Agree 100%. You want this nice little mod to stick out like the proverbial 'dogs nuts on a canary' and not end up all semi consealed in a dark colour. I think the only thing that would catch your eye (in black) is the gloss paint.
That's why I am pondering about painting in TB, because it might/may semi dissappear up under the bumper. Gonna try some Photochops and get a better idea.

Dawg, if you have a few other pics from different angles of the skid plate you could throw up here, I'd appreciate it. Cheers mate
