X5 Door won't open - Know any recalls on door carrier?

Does anyone have problems with their door handle carrier?
I have two doors that fail on me due to a piece of metal broken off inside the door carrier. The piece of metal is next to the spring.

Door handle carrier

My door handle carrier broke just like you pointed out. My wife admits to trying to nudge the slightly ajar door when it was locked. I believe this caused the carrier to break.

The problem I am having is getting the carrier and handle back in. It's not lining up properly. Any thoughts? My door is the rear driver side.

I have had to replace the driver's door carrier twice and the passenger once. The DIY takes about an hour. It not difficult at all, after you have done one.

It's done. Took a little massaging the sheet metal around the door handle to get everything to play nicely. I wish I could say it was an hour... more like an afternoon..

That carrier problem is very common it seems.
People are selling the part on Ebay for about $45ea. non-OEM.
