The only way of lowering you 4.8is is by using the BMW DIS program to set the ride height of your air springs or buy one of the ride-height control modules that pigggy-backs on the air suspension DME and tricks it into staying in access mode. The spring rate and ride height of your car is set by the software.

I know Thorney motosport was supposed to have some sort of mod for the air suspension for it to stay in one place in the lowest mode and not go up above 25mph/40kmh.. BUt i cant seem to get a hold of him at all or even find out if this mod is actually available

Does anyone else have any idea what i can do to make the air suspension stay in the lowest "access" mode, while in normal driving above 25mph.

because the lowest setting is an "Access" mode only meant for, load and unload. since techincally an x5 is an SUV they made it be more comfortable so people could step out of the car as if they are stepping out of a normal luxury sedan. BUT after the car goes above 25mph/40kmh, the car raises to the normal "middle/driving" setting.

There is always the ACS suspension kit. That's my next mod for 2006 . If memory serves me correctly, it drops 1" all around and nothing but rave reviews on the ACS suspension. Pricey though at 2K ++
