ABS Brake and DSC Lights on

I realize there is another thread on this so if the mods want to move it there, please do so.

I took my '03 X-5 4.4i to the Indie shop here in town on Thursday. They read the codes and according to them the Drivers Side Front Speed Sensor was inoperable but they did say they weren't "sure" and that the MODULE may be bad but they wouldn't know until they replaced the speed sensor....

Well, $250 later the problem still exists as the lights remain on. Now they think we need to replace the module.

My question: Do the codes specify Drivers Side Front / Rear Or Passengers Side Front / Rear failure or is it simply Speed Sensor Front or Speed Senor Rear OR is it Speed Sensor Failure with no specification to front or rear?

I've kept the OEM replaced part so if they replaced the wrong one I can start working on finding the right one.

I'd hate to spend $1600+ on a module if I don't need to simply because they don't know what they are doing.

All advice is welcome.
