Service Engine Soon light

I have a 2001 X5 4.4 with a SES light. I picked up 2 codes with a Snap On scanner. They are 1058, 1060 and I was told they might be factory codes. Does anyone know what they are?

Thanks,

looks to be abbreviated codes...any way to get the full error code?

we have an article here with a great list of codes... but since yours is not the full code, hard to decipher...

You need an OBD II scanner to plug in to read the codes.

Check this for some more info on OBD II.

If you don't want to fork out money for an OBD II (not very much money, definatly under 100 bucks), you can go to AutoZone and they will read it out for free (And this time you will get the entire code).
