new winter shoes - 4.6is

I test fit my new winter shoes today. All looked good and so I am ready for ski season. All we need now is some damn snow....

Wheels are 19x8.5" ADR with 40mm offset.

Tires are Pirelli Scorpion Ice and Snows in a 265-50-19 size. I will most likely just run them all winter since this is not my daily driver so I don't put too many miles on her. Altough I have been logging more miles than I expected to lately because as much as I love my daily driver S4, I like this 4.6is quite a bit too...

here is a side by side with the 315 Yoko summer rear tire

I debated between 18" and 19" and I'm really glad I jumped on this set of 19's. I think they look a lot better than 18's would on a 4.6is. And I also was debating between 255-50 and 265-50 tire size and ended up deciding on the bigger ones. I think they look nice on the 4.6is and the slightly wider tire will work better in the dry, which will end up being a good % of my use. The 265-50 are .5" taller than stock, which will also give me that extra 1/4" of ground clearance. haha

Wow, those look decent for snows. I'm running 18s and they look like crap. Oh well, I guess having crappy wheels on for 3 months a year is better than ending up in a ditch.

Did you use a spacer on the back or do they sit pretty flush?

no spacer on the back. They do sit inboard more than I'd like, but it doesn't look too bad. offset is 40mm. Prolly a 10mm spacer would help. But not really worth bothering I think.

Yes, I *want* them... but can't have them for now. We just went through some furniture shopping and some additional remodeling is in the plans for the next month or two... budget is tight!
