Thumbs up A Good Indie Shop In the Fraser Valley.

For anyone in my neck of the woods........

GLI Autowerks in Chilliwack, BC. Small family business specializing in Audi, VW and BMW did my oil change for 99 bucks - taxes in. I supplied the oil filter - a NAPA Pro Select (11 dollars). They supplied the oil, etc.

I like to give credit when a business does a good job. So far so good.

Eurotek in Abbotsford is far better! Mike and Ron are excellent.

Or go to the dealer for the oil change special. $123 CDN for a 2003 X5, including BMW oil and BMW filter. The independent probably used a good synthetic oil for that price, but personally I wouldn't let a Napa Pro Select (an economy version of a Wix filter) near my BMW, personally. For the extra $13, I like to use the dealer, get a free loaner, or use the express lane service and sit in all the new cars. Glad to hear you are happy with the service you got though.

If you guys are ever on the other side of the Border. I would recommend using Harmony Motorwerks in Bellingham. They are excellent.

For oil changes I just change my own. Cost around $55 dollars with Castrol Syntec 5-30 and filter.

I gotta say in the Lower Mainladn no one beats Nixon Automotives... but for after market and custom solutions you guys gotta check out Advanced Motorsports... top notch chip and exhaust tuning. They got a 10 second CLS 55... hotness... now they are laying down new pipes and software to a C63... can't wait to see the output!

Could you elaborate? I paid them a visit and was impressed with their approach and the setup they have there, but what makes them far better? I went with GLI because they're local to me (about a mile away), so I gave them the nod. They used Blutec (sp?) oil. As for the NAPA filter, I'm ok with it - especially since I have to change it out every three months or 5k kms/3k miles, (as per my warranty requirements).

Going to a BMW dealer is not gonna happen. That's long outta my way. It's be nice if they opened a dealer somewhere between vancouver and the eastern fraser valley. I'll be doing my own changes when the free aftermarket warranty runs out.

I told them my oil separator was gone, I spent $800, and they did not fix it.
All they did was replace the plugs, which were 4 months old.

Drove away with the same problem i drove in with.

I'm going to fight them.

You spent 800 dollars for plugs? Shouldn't be any fight if that's what happened. That verges on fraud. I certainly did not get the impression that they were sheisters.
