Swap stock BMW Sirius tuner

Anyone ever remove and reuse the Sirius tuner to another BMW. Mine is oem BMW unit installed by the dealer. I want to change to XM, then remove and use the Sirius in a 2003 530i. I spoke to Sirius who said it can't be done but I don't see why not.

the 530 must have a newer radio that supports sirius, if its a non-nav unit, then good luck finding one.
