Finally! a replacement tranny for my 4.8is

Just got the call from my service advisor. BMWNA has finally approved a replacement transmission for my 4.8is at 91k miles. After 8 months of going back and forth,jumping through hoops, they cannot "try" anything more. I feel its kind of a hollow victory given the time it has taken.

did u have warranty on the x5 if not u must of have had a lot of hours on the phone with bmwna

I have the CPO warranty(it expires at 100k). But, I still had alot of time back and forth from the dealership and phone calls. Easily a 1000 miles worth. No mater what the CPO says, its not always that easy to prove that there is an issue, especially when the warranty is running out. The biggest problem was that when the "transmission failsafe" kicked on, it would dissapear when I turned off the car. Then I got "cant reproduce the problem" from the stealership.
