Is this maintenance overkill?
2001 X5 Work List: Valve Cover Gasket Valley Pan Gasket Intake Manifold Gasket Exhaust Manifold Gasket Fuel Filter Transmission Fluid Transfer Case Fluid Differential Fluid Brake Fluid Oil Seperator and hoses Spark Plugs Both Front Axles Already had the entire coolant system done. Did I leave anything out? Should I take anything off the list?

Sounds like you're taking care of most of the engine in one fell swoop! The omly common leak (that just started on mine at 93k) is the front upper timing cover gaskets. They like to leak right where they meet the valve cover gaskets at the top corners. Since you will already have the valve covers off it would be a perfect time to get those done as you need to remove them to do the job anyways.
The front upper timing cover gaskets, cam sensor o-rings and vanos solenoid seals can be added to your otherwise pretty damn complete list. Oh, and get the rear cover for the manifold also as it holds the rubber diaphragm for the oil seperator system.
