Roof rails

I bought a set of roof rails for my 02 x5 but there is no holes to fit them to.
Do I have to drill the roof and if so has anyone got the instructions to fit them.

Thanks

Romal

It is my understanding that the vehicle has to be fitted for roof rails from the factory bc the threads are formed into the roof. If rails were not originally installed then you cannot install the new ones with the hardware that comes with them. Guess you could drill the roof, but not sure if it will be set up to support the rails.

I might give it a go and drill and tap the holes.

Thanks,

Tough project. I wouldn't do it if u don't have the stock holes.
