It is very possible but requires patience on your part to successfully remove the OEM angel eyes. It's not hard to do but you have to understand that an 04+ install would take a bit more effort than normal.

I thought you could bake the head lights to open them, then it would work?

Is there a way to tell on the headlights themselves to tell what year they were made? Only reason I ask is I bought a pair (from ebay) to get the clear corners.

Yes look at the bottom right or left hand side of the clear plastic lenses, look closely and you will see a small "date clock"...look even closer and you wil see that there is a year in the middle "00" or "01" etc...and an arrow that will point towards a month.

I can let you know if your headlights will work since even some 02 builds will not.

Dave

Remember that our kits feature two specifically designed rings that will fit all years and models X5's. The issue is getting some of the headlights open which apparently is possible!

Dumb question from the noob:

Do these fit the 2002 X5 3.0i?

What is the difference between these and the others offered on your WS?

Yes, they will fit all year X5's (2004 and newer come with AE's from the factory). The only problematic year is the 2003 due to a more "agressive" adhesive that BMW started using that makes it nearly impossible to open the units up. With a 2002 you should (operative word is should) be fine.

:welcome: to X5world
