Question on glove box power

Quick question:

Is the flashlight port in the glove box switched (turns off when the car is off)? I was looking to buy the glove box auxillary power adapter to power my ipod w/ the aux input, but just making sure the ipod wont stay on when the cars off and kill the battery.

Thanks,
Jared

the power plug on the passenger footwell is "not switched"- stays on with engine on or off.

Did you remove the glovebox to do this? if so, how? I tried this the other weekend but just couldnt release it, I need to do exactly what you`ve done, tap in to that port for the speed camera detector.

Thanks for any help.

didn't have to remove the glove box, just simply removed the cover for the port and exposing the wires, where i connected the wires for the radar det. and put everything back together ( all wires are all inside- no clutter inside the glove box)
