'06 4.8is strange sound at idle

I have a weird situation when the car is at idle. RPM's are constant and the engine runs smoothly, however, there is an oscillating whirring sound-much like the sound of a power steering pump. The car runs and drives perfectly but this sound is bothering me. If anyone else has experienced such an issue, will you please report. Obviously, taking it to the shop would be my next logical step but I just thought I would see if this has been experienced by anyone else.

did you check your fluid levels? time to start taking belts off one at a time and see when the whirling stops.
