finally figured out the problem! Rough Cold startup

So, finally we have something being fixed here. Hats off to Morristown BMW for helping me out here. I went in to get new windshield wipers and came out with a multi thousand $$ repair covered under CPO..

I mentioned that i had rough start up with the service engine light flashing sometimes. it is the INTERMEDIATE LEVER. The car will be in for a while getting this fixed.. anyone who also has this problem, it might be solved for you now

2004 X5 4.4 75k miles

Did you get cylinder misfire codes shooting back at you? 6,7 and 8?

Better call them and have them check the eccentric shaft also. It's an additional 1,300 in parts.

i have the same issue but it went away, codes came up as cylinder misfire 6,7 and 8. I had it checked out at an indy and they said it was some hose at the evap or something, i can't remember off the time of my head....

Thanks Naz! Our X is going in for service on the 30th for the exact same issues. Have Original Owners Protection plan which is basically the same as CPO.

I thought the levers issue was mostly a 3.0 thing w/ lots of noise?
