Change Front Park Light Bulb

Help guys,
As the heading says, the front left park light bulb has gone south (for the summer I guess) So I pop the bonnet and attempt to remove it but I'm having a hell of a time actually getting the old park light bulb out. Yes, I have disconnected the electrical connector no probs.

Can somebody give me a heads up and tell me how to best remove for replacement. Do I 'Push and twist counter clockwise', and if so how much ? 1/4 or maybe 1/2 turn. For the life of me I can't get the bugger out and I feel a bit stupid even asking this. And before you say it, yes I've tried ye old 'Search' function with no luck.
