Radio Died - Help

2002 X5, non DSP. All of the sudden the radio decided not to play anymore - no sound, no display. I turned the car off and back on - I got sound for about a minute, but still nothing on the display. Called a dealer and they said it could the MID or the amp, though betting on the amp. I have an appointment in the morning.

Before I sink a fortune on this - does anyone have an opinion?

I feel your pain.... I have nav and DSP, and mine's done it twice in the last two weeks. I still have a nav display, but it's like someone hit a MUTE button.... no music on radio, cd, cassette or nav wench.... Shut off the engine, start it up and it's back.

If you find the cure, share....

I'm going to clean some connections this weekend and see if that helps.. Dan
