Valve cover paint bubbles

So I have tiny bubbles on the valve cover of my 2002 V8.
Should I bother getting it fixed?
Have BMW improved the design so it won't happen again?
I don't want to bring it into the stealer and have them open the engine and mess something more serious up.
Any other solutions I should look at?

This issue has been happening since the late 90s. It really depends on how picky you are -- a dealer may say its just a cosmetic defect and let it go, whereas if you have a really good relationship with your dealer they may replace them.

Its your choice....I really don't trust the majority of technicians to work on any of my vehicles. I've seen missing bolts and just shoddy work in general, at $100+/hr to boot.

My advice would be...let it go, but thats just me.

I had similar problem with the valve cover flaking off om my M3.
I removed all the flaking paint and applied high temperature matt spray.
I then polished the aluminium bits........I like the end result!Looks oem but with more polished bits ,especially around the oil filler.

This looks great. Did you remove the valve cover to paint them?

Yes.The only way to do it properly is to remove the valve cover! You dont want to spray the rest of the engine? If you are going to do this, ensure that you get from Bmw new valve cover gaskets for when you reinstall your cover.
