Headlight Problem
I have a 2001 3.0 X5 with the HID lights. I was driving this morning and a seagull unfortunately jump out in front of my car as I was going about 60mph. It hit the passenger side headlight. There is no external damage, but the light is definitely pointing low.
The leveling device seems to be working since both headlights beams still rise just after turning the lights on. I haven't had a chance to dig in there to look around. Has anyone had a similar situation or know what I'm in for? Thanks |

I took the headlight out this morning. The bulb/reflector assembly came off of the 2 plastic adjuster ball joints. The front and rear of the headlight assembly are welded together, so its not possible to open it up to reassemble the assembly.
Can anyone recommend a good, low cost vendor for parts? I went to a local BMW mechanic and they wanted $475.

If your replacing the headlight you might go look at ebay there's a lot cheaper and some are still new.Good luck..
