Replace stock sub speakers - not enclosure
I've been searching like crazy on here to no avail. I want to just replace the speakers in the stock sub enclosure w/ DSP. I know they are 6" and 8ohm but has anyone done this? If so what type of replacement speakers? Also, for the front (dash) mids, any speakers recommended? they are an odd 2 1/2" and can't find anything to fit without doing surgery. Thanks MJ

The woofers on mine are dual voice coil drivers so I am not sure if replacing them with single voice coil drivers will do much in terms of improvement. I have a friend who put in replacement drivers and it is better (focals) but I have also noticed that depending on certain years the amount of bass if better/worse. The older x's seem to put out more bass.
What I can tell you is if you replace the stock speakers in the doors it will make a good improvement to the DSP stereo, I didnt replace the dash speakers. |

I put in focal components but they are pricey. I have heard good things about the infinity components also.
