Fuel Level Sensor

Guys, help needed...
i have E 53 4.4 year 2000, European. I have faced a problem with continiour default of the fuel level sensor (the left one positioned on the tank under the back seat). I changed it 3 times for this month. all done at dealer. . when checked . . .its cracked from the middle, where the needle place. . . i suspect bad installation, but checked with manuel, and nothing special needed to install it. . . Anyone face such problem. .. . regards,
