Yellow Oil: Coolant in Oil
I really don't feel like paying to fix this because it is going to be thousands of dollars and the car is a 2001 3.0 with 115,000 miles. Is there anything I can pour in my coolant tank to clog the leak? Just hoping for an easy fix... |

Its not your coolant. Multiple threads on this... Take a long trip, about on hour or so. Evaporate the moisture in your oil. I changed mine and try to drive as far as I can. Do all my errands at once to get and keep the engine hot in the cold weather.

I'm inclined to agree with 1stE53. It's moisture buildup in the oil. Unless you have some other evidencee that the coolant is responsible?
If it's just moisture, and depending how much is there, it may take more than one long trip to get rid of it. The procedure suggested by my dealer was to do 2 hot oil changes (heat engine up nice and hot, CAREFULLY change oil, and repeat after 1000km). |

aimster, my fellow virginian. just wait for a couple of weeks when the warm weather arrives, take it for a 2 hours drive down south or to wherever you want at high speed. go to an indy mechanic get an oil change right after that ( hot oil change). take it out again for another 2 hours drive within the first few days of the oil change, and do it at high speed again and another hot oil change. you should be fine. it will clean up very well. trust me. we live in the same area, thats what i do. $80 for an oil change part+labor. thats $160 for the total of 2.

it's probably condensation if your 'low coolant' doesn't trip often.
make sure your crankcase vent and oil/air seperator is not clogged. |

You should *DRIVE* your X occasionally...do as the others have suggested. Though I'd suggest getting an oil change *now* and going for a long driver *after*, and then a post change drive following that. You need to drive this car for an hour, once a week, at highway speeds. Find a reason for a road trip, and quit driving 5-15 miles and shutting it down all the time.
