Tunit V-CR 086, where does it go

I have aquired a 7 month old tunit box from somebody who has just swapped cars.. It`s for the X5 (says so on the box) and has two passthrough connectors (not oem) and a power wire that clamps on to a wire. Does anybody know where I put it? Do I have to connect it to the ECU in the passengers footwell?

Answering my own question, the tunit box connected to the ECU which was under the bonnet, right by the windscreen (right hand side in UK, left other). Had to unscrew 4 allen screws, lift and pull forward on the plastic lid and then the ecu was the second biggest box from the back.

Adrian,I have fitted quite a few "powerboxes" including X5 3.0D but I am not familiar with the Tunit box!!Do you have some pics of the wiring?
FYI the majority of pboxes connect to your FUEL PRESSURE SENSOR on your rail. This is a sensor with 3-wires.(5 VOLTS,Earth and variable voltage). You need a Multimetre to find the wires voltage. The wires from your Tunit box should connect here but you need to know what wires!! Cant you get a wiring diagram from a Tunit dealer?

I dont have pics, sorry. Yes I am aware of the installation of some boxes, I did the same to my Audi A6 1.9TDI but this tunit box for the X5 was different. It had pass through connectors on it, you unplug two main connectors from the ecu and plug in the tunit connectors, then just plug your orig connectors on to the back of the tunit ones. I had a play in the car last night and it`s definitely a lot more responsive. The revs seem to be increased too, but just at the right time.

Yes, the person who I got it from told me where to install it. The pic looks very similar other than colour, mine is Gray ish. Also there was loads of room in the ECU housing for the tunit to sit, so you cant see mine at all.
