I had the replicas on my 2001 X5 and they did look nice in person. You could use them for steps but not much of a surface area so it was easy to slip off. Also, the rubber pads on the replicas started to fall off from use. You will not like how they are attached to your car; you have to drill into the existing black plastic and so if you take them off - it will look like crap. I put the OEM ones on this X5 and they really are of superior quality.

If it's for pure cosmetic looks, on a budget then I would lightly recommend them. But now seeing OEM in person and having installed them myself I would go OEM...just like the tow hitch question that always pops up on this site.
