4.8i front and rear apron.

Hi,

Does anyone know if it is possible to fit the front lower apron and the rear lower apron that is fitted as standard to the 4.8i, to a 3.0D? We pick up our 3.0D soon and it is a Le Mans Blue special edition. We love the look of the 4.8i and would like to fit the aprons.

Our delaer looked at fitting the front and rear apron from the Aerodynamic Kit, but after 2003 you have to fit the ENTIRE aero kit, not just the aprons.

Can anyone help?

:welcome: I am jealous of you guys who can get the 3.0D Le Mans Special Edition. Someone else here just posted pictures of his.

Yes, you can fit the 4.8is spoilers on your 3.0D. You will have to change the entire front bumper but the rear is easy peasy. Several members here have done that to their '04+ X5's. Be aware though, that you will want to add some visible exhaust tips in order for the rear to look right. Some have added a 4.4 exhaust to achieve the right look.

Cheers for the info. I'll look further into that with my dealer - or as you guys affectionatley refer to as: "stealer" How true!

You could always buy the rear apron and paint the lower part of your front bumper instead of buying the 4.8 one!

Nice color! Hey! that's my 4.8is. I don't think painting will bring the same effect.

I know! It really is a beautifull car,your 4.8is.One of the best,really!
Just trying to give our member a more economical alternative to buying the complete bumper!Although the effect wont be like your 4.8,it will be a good disguise! If it had been a pre-2004 X5, painting the front under-bumper to look like the 4.6, would look ridiculous! Also ,a front apron is not available on its own for lesser x5s,i think!
