I think FL Mine was in KY. Prices in Northern CA seem to be a bit higher, probably true in MA too. Large population centers with more affluence than some parts of the country.

There will indeed be geographical differences, here in the TCs it seems that vehicles are more expensive than Chicago for example. My view is that there is less competition here, some vehicles are harder to find, and command a premium. Simply list it for what you are comfortable with and don't look back. |

My nose is itchy lol
That was me that picked up the 4.8is in Florida and drove back to Mpls The car was a one owner lease trade in that was CPO'd by Braman and put on their lot for $42k. It did not sell and went to auction after about a month, at which time Prestige Motorsports in Ft Lauderdale bought it and listed it on eBay for $35,995. I did a lot of research, and including cars in Minneapolis and across the country it seemed that a CPO car in the 40-50k mile range was around $35k, and cars in the 60k and up range dropped into the low $30k range and below depending on mileage and condition. Tack on a couple extra grand if the car is at a BMW dealership. Given those prices, this $36k car still under the 4/50 warranty was a no-brainer, and I feel I got a really good price, even considering the swirls and haze in the paint and the curb rash I get to live with. I would say a good price for your car (to you) would be $30k if it really is in as good of condition as you describe, although the high mileage could make it a hard sell for many people, even though it is still under warranty. Do you have any pics of your car? The silver with crema sport seats sounds like an extremely rare combo - maybe someone would pay a premium for it?

add ons dont count toward the resale value of the car. 46,000 miles 2006 4.8is. you dont say if the factory warranty is still in effect, With Factory Warranty $35k With CPO Warranty $37k No Warranty $32k |

I would say the Dinan mods do add value - the rest could actually take away from it though (invision and paddle shifters in particular since they require modifications to the factory wiring)

Here's my 3 cents; I bought my '05 4.8is about 6 weeks ago (right before Christmas) from Carmax. The X was located near Dallas, TX and I had it shipped to NC. It sounds a lot like yours, TB. It had just under 60k when I bought it. Fully loaded (cold weather package, nav, tow hitch, pano roof, DSP). It did NOT come with a CPO, although I bought an aftermarket transferrable 3/36 warranty. The tire tread was just 3/32, it had a Supersprint exhaust as the only mod when I bought it. Selling price was $28,900 without the extended warranty. At the time, I considered it "well bought". I do believe there are wide swings in prices since I keep looking to make sure I got a good deal, and I still feel I did okay. My layman's guess is that you would be wise to start just under or just over $30k, since you've got (a) more miles than mine, but (b) the CPO. I don't recall if you indicated new tires, but they look good in the pics.
Hope this helps! Marc |
