Slow seat heater

The seat heater on my 2001 4.4 seems like it's been taking a very long time to warm up. This morning I had it set to level III and I didn't begin feeling my rear get hot until I was almost at work, a 25 minute drive. By the time it warms up my own body heat has thawed out the seat. I don't remember them taking so long to heat up. Is this normal or is my heater on it's way out?

Doesn't sound normal. I feel it on a 5min trip. In 15 min i think it burns my ass can't keep in on 3 and have to shut it off or goto 1.

Yeah usually we hear stories of where the seat heater is burning people. It sounds like your heating element is dying. Read X5Dawg's post about replacing his element. If he was successful in installing his you may be able to do the same.
